You might know the process by now. We give you a photo, you modify it using Photoshop, crayons or whatever comes to hand, and we print the best results in a future issue of eurotuner magazine and display them at Last month we published the top entries from our eleventh Photochop Challenge to create your version of the new Ford Focus. We also put all 150 entries online at

This time, we’d like you to tackle the VW Beetle. The cuddly Herbie car has gone, replaced by an edgier design with less curves and more ’tude. This is less about a vase on the dash than a turbo under the hood. With its echoes of the Porsche 911 and Audi TT, we’d invite you to give it some spoilers, fender flares, bigger wheels, etc. Basically, it’s up to you; provided you use the supplied photo as the basis, you can do whatever you want to the car and background. You can either scan the photo from the magazine or download it here at – simply click on the image to enlarge it and download

Because we always reward effort, we’re very happy that Ken Block from DC Shoes has kindly offered to donate yet another pair of his stylish Pro Spec 1.0 competition driving shoes to the best effort. Although they cost around $200 in stores or online ( ), we’ll donate a pair to the photochop entry selected as the most creative and best executed.

The FIA-approved Pro Spec comes in Royal blue and was developed for use by professional drivers like Ken; co-founder of the premier skate shoe company, Ford WRC driver and star of the legendary Gymkhana videos. You’ve got plenty of time, but send your entries to us by 11/21/11. That gives you about eight weeks after this issue goes on sale to work your magic.

Entry details
Email your entry(s) to but please ensure your images are a minimum of 500Kb at 300dpi, or we won’t be able to print them in the magazine. However, they shouldn’t be more than 2Mb files either. If they exceed this limit, please copy them to a CD and mail it to us at Photochop, eurotuner magazine, 831 South Douglas St, El Segundo, CA 90245.

In your email we require your name, city and shoe size. We also need a list of the mods you’ve carried out to the Bug – this is important if you win!

When emailing, please put your name as the subject of the email (ie, Andrew Thorn Beetle Photochop) and do the same for the name of your jpeg image (ie, andrewthornbeetle1.jpg).

Remember, the Photochop Challenge is just for fun, so there are none of the usual competition rules. You can be a professional or amateur, you can use pen and paper if you prefer, and can enter more than once.

All entries will appear here at, with our favorites being printed in a future issue of eurotuner magazine. However, your entry will be taken as permission to reproduce your artwork in the magazine, online and in other media. So have a go and we look forward to seeing your artwork.
