Kia Motors has unveiled six sports-themed vehicles which include Kia’s ever growing sports marketing portfolio of basketball, women’s golf, motor sports and more at this year’s SEMA Show. Two of these vehicles were built by the world famous West Coast Customs (WCC) in partnership with Antenna, gogogear.com, and Kinetic Motorsports.
Blake Griffin and the Kia Optima Hybrid he leaped over at the 2011 Sprite Slam Dunk Competition earning him the position of spokesperson for the Kia brand with several new TV spots. With this accomplishment West Coast Customs (WCC) has created a custom orange basketball-themed Optima Hybrid with a booming audio system that has hardwood flair to Kia’s first-ever hybrid
Inspired by Michelle Wie, West Coast Customs built this golf-themed “Hole in One” Soul, complete with five-spoke 20-inch wheels, “Snow White” leather headrests, and artificial grass flooring throughout the vehicle. The rear consists of a virtual driving range with a 26-inch LED TV hooked up to a X-Box 360 video game console to play golf out of the back of the vehicle.
Kia also created the “Retro Surf” Rio 5-Door equipped with 17-inch three-piece gold wheels, a stunning sunset-metallic golden-brown paint scheme. This Rio is complete with everything an everyday surfer needs for a perfect day and night at the beach, including an authentic Grain wood surfboard. The power play continues with the Forte 5-Door that offers hockey players a custom hockey stick holder, custom ice-metallic grey exterior paint, 19-inch blue alloy wheels and a lowered suspension.
The Rio 5-Door B-Spec Racer offers horsepower and fuel economy with amazing driving dynamics for B-Spec racing, an affordable way for any car enthusiast to get into competitive motor sports with the new 2012 Rio 5-door. The Rios B-Spec will be competing in various events held by different motor sports including World Challenge, GRAND-AM, Sports Car Club of America and National Auto Sport Association with models like the Mazda 2, Honda Fit, Ford Fiesta and many others.
In addition to Kia’s collection, this year Kia has returned with the United States Touring Car Championship (USTCC) Optima Hybrid Pace Car which has been the official Safety Car since March 2010. Kia will make a comeback in the USTCC in 2012 with plenty of power, a few performance enhancements, including a free-flow air intake system added by gogogear.com. The Hybrid also features an eye-catching exterior with custom vinyl graphics, a state-of-the-art audio and video system and amplifiers to crank out more than 2,400 watts of sound in March as the Safety Car goes into action at the first race this season.
