BMW is making its return to Hollywood with the release of the latest installment of the Tom Cruise action franchise, Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol in December.
In addition to the vehicles in the film, BMW will also launch a Mission: Impossible-themed marketing campaign called "Mission to Drive."
The program includes an advertising campaign kicking-off today via broadcast, print, online and in-dealer activities. It will include more than 200 special screenings of the film for BMW customers, and a contest for an all-expense paid trip to the movie’s US premiere.
Several BMWs - including the futuristic Vision EfficientDynamics concept and 6 Series Convertible - are driven by Cruise’s character, Ethan Hunt. Inevitably, they feature prominently in several action sequences.
Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol will have an exclusive IMAX engagement beginning December 16, with it playing worldwide in other formats from December 21, 2011.
The premise of the movie is that IMF operative Ethan Hunt has been blamed for the terrorist bombing of the Kremlin, and is disavowed along with the rest of the agency when the President initiates “Ghost Protocol.”
Left without backup, Ethan must find a way to clear the agency’s name and prevent another attack.
Tom Cruise returns in the starring role, joined by Jeremy Renner, Simon Pegg, Paula Patton, Michael Nyqvist, Vladimir Mashkov, Josh Holloway, Anil Kapoor and Léa Seydoux.
