As the most successful SUV sold in Germany, the VW Tiguan has perhaps long been overdue a makeover by Volkswagen R GmbH – the company’s go-fast division.
So now, for European customers at least, the Tiguan is available with R-Line features including exterior and interior packages designed for Sport & Style. The R-Line exterior package includes distinctive R-Design bumpers painted in body color. There are matching side sills with matte chrome inserts, plus a roof spoiler.
Other additions include a black textured rear diffuser, as well as the R-Line logo on the aluminum door sill plates and front grille.
Finally, the conversion is wrapped up with new 19” ‘Mallory’ wheels in ‘Sterling silver’ with 255/40 R19 tires.
The range of colors that can be combined with the R-Line accessories includes the Tiguan’s Candy white, Reflex silver metallic, Deep Black pearl, Night blue metallic and Pepper grey metallic.
On the inside, the R-Line parts can be ordered as an extension pack. In this case, customers can order front sport seats, ‘Kyalami’ seat covers (front and rear) with lateral supports in ‘San Remo’ microfiber (front) and the R-Line logo on the head restraints. There’s also a multifunction steering wheel with aluminum accents and R-Line badge.
Other components can be fitted, such as a Titan black headliner and stainless steel pedals.
While the Tiguan R-Line may not come to the US, VW enthusiasts in search of hard-to-find European parts could do worse than equip their own VW SUV with parts from the R-Line catalog.
