The bi-annual Mini Takes the States (MTTS) rally will kick off on the east coast on July 4 and will make the cross-country trek to the Pacific coast concluding on July 15.

As Mini celebrates its ten-year anniversary, thousands of Mini owners and enthusiasts will join legs of the cross-country rally, creating a caravan of Minis. Along the way, Mini USA will provide loyal owners and enthusiasts with genuine, motoring experiences. The 2010 event, for example, included a run on the Bonneville Salt Flats and laps on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. However, MTTS 2012 route details and adventures are still being finalized, so full details will be provided in the coming weeks.

During the event, owners will have the opportunity for sneak peeks of new Mini vehicles and technology. There will also be an autocross experience to demonstrate Mini's performance and handling.

Participant registration begins in April, but owners and enthusiasts can sign up to receive updates at www.miniusa.com/mtts
