Clearly taking cues from VWoA/s R GTI concept from several years ago, this particular Mk6 GTI is the work of nine VW apprentices who produced the car in only seven months.
With a black and red interior, 360hp 2.0TSI engine and sport suspension, the GTI Black Dynamic also features an 1800 watt sound system in the trunk, visible beneath plexiglas.
The team of four women and five men aged between 18 and 23 chose the motto "sporty driving" for the GTI.
Martin Schmidt (22) was responsible for stamping the GTI lettering. "This is the high point of our training," he said. "The amount we learned is incredible, and we have developed our own ideas and implemented them in our car. Where else do you get an opportunity like that?" he added.
The custom features were all produced by the apprentices: the sport seats were upholstered in black and red alcantara and leather, the door trims have decorative stitching, the Deep Black Metallic paint was combined with flat anthracite film, while eight-piston brakes were added on the front.
Under the guidance of their trainers, Detlef Weiner and Björn Schallhorn, the apprentices, who are among the best in their classes, planned the design and created the project plans. Furthermore, they selected the appropriate parts from the Volkswagen model range, negotiated with suppliers and performed their own work on the car.
Finally, the future technicians named their GTI Black Dynamic.
The Golf GTI Black Dynamic is celebrating its world premiere from 16-19 May in front of 150,000 VW enthusiasts at the 31st GTI Festival at Wörthersee, Austria.
