Volkswagen will showcase four new models at the Leipzig Auto Mobil International show in Germany on 2 June. One is the Beetle Fender Edition covered in the News section at www.eurotuner.com.
A second is this Scirocco GTS, which celebrates 30 years since the original car bearing that script first rolled off the production line.
Sadly, no Scirocco models come to the US, so we definitely won’t be getting this model with its colored stripes running across the hood, roof and tailgate, like the original GTS.
Also unique are the new front and rear bumpers, exposed side sills and black 18” ‘Thunder’ wheels (with red brake calipers behind). The car also gets the rear diffuser and roof spoiler from the Scirocco R to finish the makeover.
Under the hood is the regular 2.0L TSI engine but in European-spec 210hp trim. The interior features red and black trim plus a dimpled golf-ball shift knob – first seen on the first Golf GTI as well as the 1982 Scirocco GTS.
