Ford announced today that the new Focus ST with its 2.0 EcoBoost four-cylinder engine comes certified at 32 mpg highway. Not bad for an engine producing 112 more horsepower than the base model Focus. Now you can have peace-of-mind at the pump and have some fun while out on the flogging the hatchback on the backroads.

EcoBoost engines have been treating Ford quite well since their debut. By 2013 estimates in production are expected to grow to 1.3 million units across the globe. This also includes EcoBoost engines found in the Ford Escape, Explorer, Edge, F-150, Flex, Fusion, Police-Interceptor and other various utility vehicles. On the horizon for Ford, is the EcoBoost 1.0L. Which will officially become Ford’s smallest and quietest engine ever. Expect to see this tiny package hit U.S. shores sometime next year (hint: look at Fiesta and Focus models).
