If you are like us you probably have dreams of owning each example of the VW Golf since the first generation. Well time to make plans on owning a seventh.

Over the weekend VW debuted the latest version of the highly successful model. Loosing 220 lb. and gaining safety, comfort and fuel efficiency (23%) the new Golf is the biggest to date.

Exterior wise a strong shoulder line has been added as well as refined front and rear bumper design treatments. Inside has received the surgeons touch with sculpted seats and dash.

More importantly is the prospect of a base model 1.4L turbocharged engine, but VW has yet to confirm of such an engine in the U.S. Rumors suspect the return of a 1.8T (crossing-fingers).

All we know is we want to get our hands on one to see what kind of tuning potential the Mk7 will posses. We think a competition is in order soon. Stay tuned.

Where you’ve often spent quite a bit of time sifting through various turbo trim numbers, engine internal specs and different JDM “doo-dads,” this

Superstreet: If there’s one thing you guys hate with all of your soul, it’s the idea of OEM vehicle manufacturers teaming up with one another on new vehicle offerings, the way that GM and Honda/Acura have agreed upon. We’ve seen it with the Subaru and Toyota “86” experiment that was lit ablaze when first announced

Unlike most builds that are a product of some grand scheme of daydreaming and sometimes documenting plans for picking up a specific car and applying a headful of parts and changes to it, this turbocharged 1995 Mazda Miata is the exact opposite. Its owners and builders, brothers Alex and David Wong, had no intentions of

One of the most unexpected things to emerge from an unusual 2020 was just how hot the Japanese tuner car collector market is. If you own a well-kept, low-miles, pre-2000 model year, all original sports car or sport compact from one of Japan’s OEMs, there’s a good chance you might be sitting on a gold
