We previously mentioned that, as part of Toyota’s sponsorship of the California Science Center Foundation, its Tundra pickup was set to tow the space shuttle Endeavour on the final quarter-mile of its journey to its new resting place.

However, plans have changed and the feat will now occur at the start of the shuttle’s journey when it crosses the 405 Freeway on the Manchester Boulevard Bridge.

For this task, a different tow mechanism was required than other portions of the route to help with the weight distribution.

When: October 12, 2012, Evening (exact time TBA)
Where: Manchester Blvd Bridge over 405 Freeway, near LAX
