Seat has announced the release of their new 2013 Ibiza Cupra. This 180hp hot hatch is meant to propel the brand into the performance conscious buyer, primarily the VW GTI and Ford Focus ST crowd.

The Cupra name was established in 1996 as a special edition top-of-the-line Ibiza which was built to commemorate SEAT’s WRC Victory in the 2.0L category. The latest Ibiza to dawn the Cupra name badge enhances the suspension by lowering the car and includes an XDS electronic differential lock to cut back on understeer. The Cupra is set to steal the limelight of many red light challenges with its 0-60 sprint in 6.9 seconds and top speed of 142mph.

Outside, the car hosts several design features synonymous with the Seat brand. Strong defined shoulder lines, matched complimented by a wider grille with a set of gaping air intakes. Out back a new aggressive diffuser with trapezoidal exhaust tips help complete the cars overall race inspired good looks. Finally a set of exclusive 17” wheels pull the performance edge together, giving the driver confidence through any corner or pulling up at any stop light.

Inside, the Cupra theme continues to bring the diver a wealthy selection of exclusive options. Including a new sport steering wheel with shift paddles for the DSG transmission as well as unique sport seats with an optional two-tone leather upgrade. As an added feature the Seat Portable System that includes Bluetooth, navigation, microSD slot and voice control.
