Well this didn't take long to surface. It hasn't been more than a week since Mini announced the coming of their all-new Cooper Paceman to the United States. Now they have a John Cooper Works (JCW) model ready to thrill your AWD performance needs.
The JCW Paceman will take center stage at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, MI January 2013. It receives a power boost of 28 extra ponies over the Cooper Paceman S model with a total of 208hp and 207 lb-ft of torque. The car also comes standard in the ALL4 all-wheel drive system and is available in a six-speed manual gear box or an automatic six-speed. 0-60mph is completed in a brisk 6.5s and a top speed of 127mph for US bound models. EPA estimates the MPG at 31 highway / 25 city / 27 combined for the manual transmission and 30 highway / 23 city / 26 combined for an automatic equipped model.
What's a JCW model with out some style? Outside a new aero body-kit is fitted including a new front air dam, side skirts, wheel arches are wider, hood scoop, rear spoiler and rear apron all receive the JCW special treatment. Chrome exhaust tips and exclusive Cross-Spoke Crusher design 19" wheels are fitted on the car as well.
The suspension is lowered by 10mm and paired with a upgraded braking system that provide ultimate handling on the larger model. Making the car feel right at home in the go-kart handling DNA set by its smaller older cousin the JCW Cooper S.
Inside, gloss red door accents are matched to red leather seat piping and stitching found nearly on every bonded surface. Bringing a serious tone to the performance conscious JCW customer.
We'll keep you posted on when we get behind the wheel of one and see how it stacks up on a Rallycross track.
