Despite some problems in 2012, Irwindale Raceway has confirmed it will resume racing at the oval next year. "We're very pleased to announce that oval track racing will return to Irwindale for the 2013 season," said Jim Cohan from Team 211 Entertainment President. This will bring to an end the 11-month uncertainty about racing at the popular Southern California facility.

"Our lease with property owners Nu-Way Industries has been broadened to includes all forms of racing on the 6500-seat twin oval track. We are working hard to put all of the pieces together to be able to run a 2013 racing season," said Cohan.

The famous SoCal speedway has been re-named as the 'Irwindale Event Center' to reflect the wide range of public and private events that we hold and to invite everybody to join us in what we feel will be a new era of operation for this venue.

A 2013 oval track competition event schedule will be published shortly.
