Swapping engines into capable chassis are nothing new to German tuning house G-Power. So when we received word that their supercharged E92 V8 M3 E36 chassis had taken first and second in its class, we grinned with delight.
Their method of "hot rodding" certain M cars to ignite a grassroots BMW skunk works program can make the most cynical tuners happy. They've dumped a 5.0L S85 V10 engine into an M3 E46 and even a 4.0L V8 S65 engine into a 1M. So it's safe to say they know their way around a swap or two.
Fielding the only supercharged car in the starting grid, G-Power's M3 crossed the finish line in first place in its class at the season opener, with an overall a 4th place has been achieved against a field of 47 cars including Porsche GT2, Porsche GT3 RS, Lamborghini Gallardo FL2, Dodge Viper GTS-R and the Mercedes SLS AMG GT3.
The tailor-made G-POWER M3 supercharger system is powered by the ASA supercharger, flanged to the engine using high-strength mounts. The ASA T1-523 was created to provide the need for fresh air up to 8,500rpm revving 4.0L V8 engine power plant. The engineers did not spare any cost or efforts during the development of this supercharger system. Even going so far as conducting sophisticated computer aided design simulations to ensure optimum performance capabilities.
