European Car and Motor Trend Shootout

When Japan released a vehicle said to be the best modern solution to all around fun and practicality for today's youth, we here at eurotuner raised our hands and waved feverishly to speak our minds. Why wasn't our beloved hot hatch, the Volkswagen GTI, not considered a worthy adversary to the Japanese RWD "Fun Machine"?

While we try to uncover the latest conspiracy's plaguing our beloved hatchback, we felt the only logical way to resolve our dispute with our big sister publication was to hash it out on the track. We invited Michael Febbo, associate editor of Motor Trend, to go head to head in a battle of time, speed and wits with european car editor, Greg Emmerson, to see who the victor of the day would be. And for added fun and bit of prodding to European manufacturers, we convinced a BMW E30 M3 owner to bring out his daily driver for some fun on the track and to see if the chassis still carried the crown.

Enjoy the video and be sure to comment. European hot hatch brothers and sisters, UNITE!
