Garage Italia Customs Creates Diesel-Branded Fiat 500

Custom Fiat embodies the spirit and style of Diesel

Garage Italia Customs, led by Lapo Elkann, has just completed a new, tailor-made project. Based off the current Fiat 500 Convertible, the 555RR receives a heavy dose of Diesel brand style and spirit.

Created for Renzo Rosso, the founder of Diesel, the 555RR features a sleek black exterior color with silver glitter and matte/shiny effect Swarovski crystals around the front and rear lights, while the front bumper grille, alloy rim edges, and hubcaps feature a red contrast. The central band along the hood and hatch have been painted matte black, furthering the chromatic dualism of the exterior.

Inside, the central seats are lined with black lozenge-patterned Foglizzo leather, matching the black denim design details on the side panels, while the whole of the seat is outfitted with Foglizzo Lord leather. The sides feature a rock touch produced by pleated leather and leather lacing as lateral stitching.

The door panels and gear lever cover use denim, while the lever itself features a red pommel that replaces the traditional gear numbers for letters that spell out "Enjoy." The ceiling is also lined with black lozenge-pattern Foglizzo leather.

"This particular project brought together two Italian specialists: Diesel in fashion and Garage Italia Customs in car customization. I'm proud of the result achieved by my Maestros, who were able to create a car that's a perfect synthesis of Diesel's style and rock spirit, exactly what Renzo asked me for," said Elkann in a release.
