Gymkhana EIGHT Debuts

Ken Block raises the bar again, hooning his 650HP Fiesta RX43 on the streets (and dunes, and runways) of Dubai.

Feb 29, 2016

Last week it was the livery tease, tonight the full video dropped, “Ken Block's Gymkhana EIGHT: Ultimate Exotic Playground” – filmed in Dubai and featuring a number of sick-ass vehicles (including a 747!) and even a menagerie of animals. The nine-plus minute edit doesn’t necessarily break any new ground in driving but does find the head Hoonigan sowing smoky tire destruction in some fresh ways.

The video kicks off with Block in the desert walking toward his 650-horsepower Ford Fiesta RX43, a gymkhana-specific machine. He climbs in to find he’s sharing the cabin with what appears to be an adult leopard (a la Ricky Bobby getting over his fear of driving in “Talladega Nights”). He kicks out the big cat, fires up the subcompact, and then heads off to do his thing – around a Ford F150 Raptor up on two wheels, in a donut box made up of Dubai’s famous exotic police cars, even against several million dollars worth of hypercars. There is a lot of money up on the screen in this one.

We won’t totally ruin it for you, you should definitely watch the video, but we will reveal the surprise at the end. Block is already looking ahead to Gymkhana NINE, where he aims to transform an AWD Focus RS – the teaser dubbed here the RS RX – to thrash on even more tires. Ever the showman, Block knows how to leave them wanting more.

Oh, and if you haven't seen any of the previous Gymkhana edits, check 'em out below.
