By combining these two models with the currently-available Insight and Civic Hybrid, Honda will enhance its lineup of compact hybrid models-and to stay ahead in the hybrid movement Honda is hard at work developing a new hybrid system for mid-to large-size vehicles.

The CR-Z concept vehicle first showed its face to the world at the 40th Tokyo Motor Show in 2007, and was well received and highly anticipated. The sporty hybrid will feature advanced technologies that deliver enjoyable driving for all while reducing the vehicle's environmental footprint. What more could you really want?

The Elusive Accord Crosstour
Though the details are fuzzy at the moment, the word has gotten out that Honda plans to release an all-new crossover vehicle based on the award-winning Accord.

Honda has plans to release their new model in the fall of 2009, branded as the "Accord Crosstour". This new addition to the Honda lineup will be sold as a 2010 model, so keep your eyes peeled. American Honda Inc. plans to announce more on this breakthrough auto later in the year.

Love Cub 50 Project
The Super Cub-Honda's most popular, longest-selling scooter-marked its 50th anniversary last year since first going on sale in August 1958. The Super Cub is sold in 160 countries and regions around the world, and is the world's best-selling bike, with cumulative sales topping 60 million units in April 2008.

To celebrate its 50th birthday Super Cub fans in Japan started 'The Love Cub 50 Project' as a way of expressing their appreciation for the bike, as well as to raise some funds for UNICEF by turning more than sixty Super Cubs into works of art.

The original Super Cub designs made their debut at the Mori Arts Center Gallery in Tokyo from June 26 to July 5, 2009. All proceeds from the unveiling event and sales of the official guidebook will be donated to UNICEF via the Japan Committee for UNICEF.

RDX Makeover
The all new 2010 turbocharged RDX continues the tradition of offering performance, utility, and cutting edge styling, all wrapped up in a package intended for the energetic lifestyle. But unlike the previous models, 2010 will offer a new two-wheel drive version for those living in warmer climates. Because it's lighter than its all-wheel drive brethren, the two-wheel version offers improved fuel economy and a lower sticker price. A new thicker inlet pipe is used to bring down the decibels during high boost acceleration.

Hondata Does It Again!
Two Cars, Two Land Speed Records
In July of 2009, Hondata's RSX and CRX once again set a new land speed record at the El Mirage dry lake bed, with 196 mph and 156mph respectively.

Located 40 minutes outside of Palmdale, between the 14 and 15 freeways, El Mirage is managed by the Bureau of Land Management. The Southern California Timing Association holds events at the dry lakebed monthly from the months of May through November. The course is 1.3 miles long and the conditions depend on the previous year's rainfall to create hard or smooth surfaces for racing.

Doug Macmillan's 2005 Acura RSX is powered by a K20A, low-compression engine force-fed by twin Rotrex Superchargers. The Rotrex units were installed, and piping fabricated, by Norco-based KraftWerks. Oscar Jackson has been working closely with Hondata over the last two years to create an impressive solution for the RSX. In June, Doug boosted the G/BGCC (2 Liter Blown Gas Competition Coupe) record from 178.867 mph, to an impressive 194.955 mph! In July, he broke his record yet again, this time at a blistering 196.304 mph; trying hard to break the 200 mph barrier. Doug is currently first in points for cars, and second overall out of 189 cars.

The next plan of attack: Speed Week located at the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah. The goal is to put Miriam Macmillan's 1990 K20A-powered CRX over the 200 mph mark. The significance of this feat is that the car is naturally aspirated, is equipped with only a dry sump, electric water pump, and Kinsler throttle bodies, in addition to a few aerodynamic modifications. Hondata is going after the G/GCC (2 Liter Gas Competition Coupe), G/FCC (2 Liter Fuel Competition Coupe), and G/GALT and G/FALT records. Doug will be chasing after his existing G/BGALT record of 208 mph, and his big G/BFCC record of 234 mph! Stay tuned.....

HPD Looking Toward FF Entry
Honda Performance Development has proposed entry into an SCCA club Racing program in an effort to lower operating costs, and push toward American open-wheel racing. Their concept revolves around an L15A7 (Honda Fit) motor in an existing FF chassis. The L15 proved to be equivalent in performance to the old "Kent" engines but offered a longer service life, more availability, and lower operating costs. With the new Fit motor just starting it's production-and by law, a minimum of ten years of parts support is mandatory-engine parts and availability are guaranteed.
