Honda Performance Development
Formula F initiative approved by SCCA!
With the old "Kent" engines nearing extinction, Honda has stepped up to provide its L15A7 engine (Honda Fit) as its official replacement. The 1.5L fuel injected design produces equivalent power, while providing lower operating costs and improved availability. Additionally, the Fit motor is at the beginning of its production generation, which means a minimum of ten years worth of available replacement parts. Engine conversion kit delivery begins in February 2010, and HPD production manager Marc Sours is excited. "We believe that the introduction of the modern, less-expensive Honda FF engine can restore interest in and raise the profile of FF to the point where it once again becomes the place for young drivers to begin their careers, and where current SCCA club racers will find economical, close competition."

Originally derived from the Accord sedan, the Crosstour mixes the ride comfort of a sedan with the increased ride height and all-weather potential of an SUV.
FCX Clarity wins Grove Medal
Honda received the prestigious Grove Medal recently in recognition of the FCX Clarity hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicle. With twice the fuel economy of a gasoline engine and 1.5 times that of a hybrid, the FCX Clarity is a great choice for fuel conscious drivers. In addition to excellent fuel economy, the FCX produces no harmful gases-its only emission is water.
Acura adds a Manual Transmission to the '10 TL Lineup
After offering only an automatic transmission on its 2009 TL, Acura decided to give the enthusiast driver a break and offer a manual TL for the 2010 model. Along with the luxurious TL and sporty TL SH-AWD, the 2010 TL lineup is the most diverse in Acura's history.
The availability of a 6-speed manual transmission represents the first time Acura has ever paired its Super Handling All-Wheel Drive system with a manual gearbox. Not only that, but the new transmission is 110 pounds lighter than the Sequential SportShift automatic transmission.
