Whether you celebrate the typical solar calendar New Year or Lunar New Year, we at Import Tuner want to wish you a happy New Year.

This is the time of year that we do the infamous Import Tuner calendar. It is the worst and best time for us all at once. The end of the year means we have to put together our calendar, do post-SEMA catch up, throw our own Super Lap Battle (coverage to come), and do our regular duties at the magazine. At the same time we love all the events and products we get to do for our readers. It's almost silly that they pay us for doing these things.

Sorry to all the subscribers who aren't getting a calendar with their issue. The calendar (like most magazine inserts) is, and has always been, only available with the newsstand edition. I wish we could give you subscribers the calendars free of charge, but the suits upstairs have deemed the $1.50 you pay for an issue wouldn't even cover the shipping cost, let alone the efforts put into the calendar. But once again this year, I'm going to steal a box or two of the calendars off the printer press. For all you subscribers who want one, email us at with your address and subscriber number (found in the top of your address label), and I will send out free calendars while supplies last. For the ones who read this too late, go out and support us by picking up a newsstand issue.

From all of us at Import Tuner, "Happy New Year". We hope you finish all your projects or meet all of your automotive goals this year.

Less is more. Keep it simple. Go for an OEM look. Ice Sorsongsermkul isn't hearing any of that. In fact, he's gone completely the opposite direction with his RX-7, with a spec list that reads like a "who's who" of the tuning industry.
