The 2015 Goodwood Festival of Speed (GFOS) is nearly upon us, and McLaren has announced what it's hauling to the renowned hill climb and enthusiast mecca. In a first for the supercar maker, models will represent it from all three of its product tiers - that is, Sports Series, Super Series and Ultimate Series. The roster includes the 570S Coupe (Sports), making its global dynamic debut, and the McLaren P1 GTR (Ultimate) and 650S Le Mans (Super), both limited runs and rarely seen in public.
Unveiled at the New York auto show earlier this year, the 570S Coupe will take to the Goodwood Hill course throughout the GFOS weekend. It's currently the most powerful model in the Sports Series, rocking a 3.8L twin turbo V-8 engine making 562hp. Goodwood goers will also have a chance to see the car on the stage at the McLaren House, an area that overlooks the Hill course and features cars, guest speakers and historic McLaren memorabilia honoring the "Flat-out and Fearless" theme of this year's Festival.
Codenamed XP1, the 650S Le Mans is the experimental prototype of the special edition coupe-only model built by McLaren Special Operations in collaboration with McLaren F1 designer Peter Stevens to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the famous endurance race victory. It features styling from the 1995 race-winner, including a fully-integrated roof-mounted "snorkel" air intake, wing louvers designed to reduce pressure over the front wheels, and one-off Sarthe Grey exterior color, inspired by the race-winning F1 GTR.
The 986hp track-only P1 GTR will be sitting next to the 650S Le Mans in the GFOS Supercar Paddock. Like the others, the P1 GTR will also undertake the hill course throughout the weekend, making its UK dynamic debut. Finally, the 650S GT3 will round out the display, a model revealed at last year's GFOS. The 650S GT3 has enjoyed success globally in its competitive debut season, securing podium finishes in five championships at circuits across North America and Europe with McLaren GT customer teams.
