Scion xD RS 2.0 - Highly Connected Compact

Oct 1, 2009

Scion's xD Release Series 2.0 (xD RS 2.0) provides a lot of connected mobility in a diminutive, tossable package. The xD RS 2.0, Scion's final limited-production vehicle for 2009, will be easy to spot thanks to its Electric Wasabi green paint.

While the body challenges one's retinas, the eye-popping aspect of the xD RS 2.0 is inside the cabin. The xD features a touch-screen Pioneer Audio Visual Navigation (AVN) head unit with flash memory, voice recognition and Bluetooth.

For media player flexibility, the AVN unit comes with USB, SD card and iPod connectivity. The Pioneer AVN head unit also has satellite radio, rearview camera and HD Radio.

Electric Wasabi accents the xD's interior with four-in-one interior lights, and "Release Series 2.0" doorsills illuminated with white back lighting. Silver accented seat fabric and individually numbered badging add to the vehicle's uniqueness.

Production will be limited to 1,600 with an MSRP of $14,650 (manual transmission) and $15,450 (automatic transmission). The xD RS 2.0 offers a lot of connectivity bang-for-the-buck, as the vehicle is only $1,270 more than a conventional xD.

No, it won't be called the GTO. This car is called the 488 Pista, like the Italian word for "race track." It also looks absolutely incredible.
