Five Axis iQ Looks Plenty Smart
Troy Sumitomo and Five Axis have worked their magic on the diminutive Scion iQ, adding a trick Five Axis Flare and Aero Kit, 18-inch rollers and a TRD big brake kit. The kit adds muscle to the iQ's proportionally challenged body while the unique exterior color called Titanium, consisting of pearl bismuth silver that's accented with black chrome, adds a sinister aura. The Axis rims are wrapped in Yokohama S.drive 215/40R18 rubber and the TRD brake package includes 328x28mm two-piece floating discs with four-piston calipers up front and a 282x28mm rotor, two-piston setup out back. Tein suspension components give the Scion its laid-back ride.
Inside, the Five Axis iQ show car is appointed with custom leather-trimmed seats, door inserts and an Ultrasuede EcoDesign headliner. The Scion's one-off upholstery was stitched by Little John's Interior Concepts and its custom floor mats were provided by Chilewich. The '11 Scion iQ is powered by a dual VVT-i 1.3-liter, four-cylinder engine that produces 90 hp and a CVT gearbox, so retina-popping acceleration is a long way off. Still, a few power parts would be nice and there should be plenty of those in the pipeline soon. The '11 iQ will hit the road in early 2011.
