The "Ultimate Playground: L'Autodrome" adds a park skating-like approach to how Block views France's Radical Autodrome Facility

Sep 15, 2010

September 15, 2010 - Corona, CA - Monster Energy's Block unveils the release of DC's newest video in the widely successful Gymkhana franchise: Gymkhana THREE, Part 2; Ultimate Playground; l'Autodrome, France, where he takes you back to his original raw driving skills that made his first video, Gymkhana Practice one of the most successful, viral sensations of all time.

Check out the craziest video yet featuring Block and the debut of his 2011 Ford Fiesta that was designed and built specifically for this project and looks similar to his Ford Fiesta World Rally Championships ride, but is unique in its ability to handle and slide on tarmac.

Shot on the high banks of France's legendary l'Autodrome de Linas-Montlhery (a 1.58 mile high speed oval track), Block and his crew - who literally had to be roped into place on portions of the steep (51-degree, twice as steep as most NASCAR tracks) track in order to film his high wire driving antics - put together a breath-taking follow-up to Part One of Gymkhana THREE. It's a video adventure rich in auto history that puts the viewer right in on Block's amazing driving skills, complete with squealing tires and the tight, high-revving sounds of the Ford engine.

"When planning out Gymkhana THREE, I had to find a location where I could go far beyond what was possible in GYM1 and GYM2. The steep banks and obstacles at the Autodrome were the perfect place," explained Block. "It was the craziest driving I've ever attempted behind the wheel."

Born from a need to stay sharp when not contesting rally contests around the world, Gymkhana THREE, Part Two: Ultimate Playground: L'Autodrome, allows Block to showcase driving skills very similar to that of rally racing.
