XDC Phoenix came to a close with a hard fought battle in the final of XDC Phoenix between Ovcharik and Canadian Pat Cyr. While Ovcharik has been on a tear in the second half of the XDC season, Cyr was fresh off a victory at the Formula Drift Pro-Am Nationals at Irwindale Speedway in Irwindale, California.

However, in qualifying it would be Jeff Jones, driving the BMI Racing 4-rotor Mazda RX-8, taking the top qualifier spot, with DeNofa qualifying second, local driver George Marstonovic third, and Will Parsons fourth. DeNofa's qualifying effort, combined with Nate Brasz not making the top-16, effectively clinched the XDC championship for DeNofa.

Ovcharik would not have an easy road to the final, as he first faced Will Parsons, who earned the Retaks Insane Entry Award in qualifying, before facing XDC Vegas winner Odi Bakchis. In the Final Four, he faced top qualifier Jeff Jones before defeating him and advancing to the final. Cyr would defeat Mike Burns, Marstanovic, and finally, DeNofa to meet Ovcharik in the final.

In the consolation, DeNofa put a cap on his championship season by defeating Jones to finish third, earning $1000 while Jones won $500. In the final, Ovcharik defeated Cyr and took his first victory of the season, and grabbing a $3000 check while Cyr earned $2000. DeNofa was also awarded a set of Enkei Racing Line wheels for his championship.

"I had an awesome time traveling and driving in the XDC this year," said DeNofa afterwards. "With the gnarly road courses, drivers that bring the heat, and great fan attendance, XDC was the place to be. I'd like to thank Secret Services Auto, Technica Motorsports, Nexen Tires, NonStop Tuning, BC Racing, Sideways Vinyl, and S-Max Intercoolers for their support this season. I also have to send big props to my girlfriend Kaitie, my crew Sticks, Ethan, my mom, and the whole NST Team! Look out for us next year for sure!"

Due to overwhelming support throughout the season from spectators and sponsors, XDC is planning thirteen events in 2011 - a seven event drifting championship, and six standalone car shows. An announcement on the schedule will be made in the coming weeks.
