France, June 15th 2011 - For Brembo, the world leader in brake technology, this was the Italian manufacturer's 11th overall crown in 12 years and the 20th victory since its first win at La Sarthe in 1989. Brembo supplied over two thirds (40 cars) of the 56 car field for Le Mans this year, including 14 of the 17 LMP 1 prototypes competing.

The #2 Audi R18 TDI of Marcel Fassler, Andre Lotterer and pole-sitter Benoit Treluyer bested the three Peugeot 908s, taking the checkered flag just 13.8 seconds ahead of the #9 Peugeot.

Early on, the Audis dominated, only to have two-time Le Mans Champion Alan McNish total the #3 Audi in the first hour of the race and last year‚s champion Mike Rockenfeller doing the same with the #1 Audi in the 8th hour. So the #2 Audi was left to contest the world‚s greatest endurance race against the French tricolor and did so with flying colors, giving Audi Sport its tenth win in 12 years on the legendary 8.5-mile Circuit de la Sarthe west of Paris.

Since Brembo began racing with Ferrari in 1975, whether four-wheel or two, open-wheel, prototype or GT, the Italian manufacturer of high-performance braking systems has won more world championships at more great venues like Le Mans, Daytona, Sebring, Monaco and Baja than any other competitor.

Racing teams and manufacturers such as Aston Martin, Audi, Corvette, Ferrari, Porsche, Mercedes-Benz AMG and Lamborghini, who demand the best, turn to the experts in braking technology and performance: Brembo. The strong support and trusted relationships that Brembo has with more than 30 original equipment manufacturers and hundreds of championship-winning race teams in F1, WRC, NASCAR, IndyCar and sports cars, is based on the fact that Brembo is the industry benchmark. There is no other company or product line on the market that can match Brembo's level of technology and performance.
