Mazda has jumped into the special-edition fray in a big way with a number of limited-edition Miatas. The latest iteration, dubbed Karai, which Mazda says translates into “sharp,” is the brainchild of Mazda’s European division. A standout, thanks to its unique Metal Green Metallic paint, the Karai also features special 17-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels, a pair of Recaro sport seats trimmed in black leather and Alcantara with white stitching, aluminum pedals and a leather steering wheel with white stitching. The Miata’s 160hp, 2.0-liter, 4-cylinder engine remains stock, but Mazda has an optional performance package waiting in the wings. The optional fare includes an exhaust system, a set of lowering coils and interior goodies, including Karai-specific floor mats. A scant 165 copies will be available for sale in Germany at a staggering $43K. Yikes.
