For the last several years, Scion has thrown one of the biggest and most well attended pre-SEMA parties in the industry. This year was no exception! Showcasing the brand's latest and greatest SEMA uber-builds, the Kim Sing Theater in lovely and aromatic downtown Los Angeles played home to the annual kickoff for the intense upcoming SEMA week. This year’s custom rides came outfitted in many crazy ways, including an xB which has been “wrapped” in tee shirt material from 686 clothing. We give that an A for originality! The highlight of the evening was the unveiling of the 3 Scion iO’s dubbed as entries to the Scion iQ Tuner Challenge. Mike Chang came through with a custom wide body Voltex outfitted iQ, Jon Sibal brought out a very clean (and sinister looking) street inspired ride, and Tatsunori Tsuchida’s entry had the engine in the wrong place (literally, this iQ has been converted to a mid-engine rear drive layout.) We can’t wait to see who takes the cake this year, stay tuned for updates from SEMA next week!
