May 8, 2012 – The Oregon Trail Rally (OTR) continues to make history in Scion Racing’s rally program. After three days of racing, the Sparco Rally xD finished another Rally America championship event and earned a 2nd place podium in the Two Wheel Drive class. The team was met with its fair share of challenges, where just finishing became the most realistic goal, but the team and driver/co-driver battled on and the end result was more than anyone could have hoped for.

The finish was fast enough to not only earn a 5th place ranking “Overall,” which meant our 2wd machine beat out every Super Production competitor, but it also helped earn enough points to place the Sparco Rally xD team in the lead for the 2wd National Championship. “We’ve never led in the chase for the championship and even though we didn’t earn the 1st place win, which was our event goal, we are in the lead for the championship which is the main goal for the team and the program,” said team manager Philip Chase.
