Mazda’s Miata Yusho Concept unveiled at the Leipzig Auto Show is an enticing proposition. The Miata’s physique is relatively tame; the big action is under the hood where a Flyin’ Miata supercharger kit ups the ante by 74 horses versus a standard-issue MX-5 Miata. The tuning package includes a reflashed ECU, and the engine has been fortified with lower-compression pistons and forged rods from Cosworth, different fuel injectors, and a trick exhaust system that terminates in dual, center-mounted tips and features sound adjustment capabilities. Other goodies include Bilstein shocks, Eibach lowering coils, sway bars, and an upgraded clutch. Back-channel buzz indicates this radical roadster may see a limited production run. The big question is, since it was debuted in Germany, would said limited production Miata be a Euro-only proposition?
