Swedish Supercar Maker Celebrates Production Milestone

Apr 22, 2013

If you're a supercar collector looking for a car you don't see on every other street corner (aren't we all), then a Koenigsegg may be the car for you. The Swedish-based boutique manufacturer has been building record-breaking and award winning hyper cars for the past ten years, not counting the eight years of development before it produced its first customer car in 2002.

A company built on extreme performance, detail, safety and hand-crafted design, Koenigsegg cut the first carbon fiber pieces for its 100th car in September of last year. Cleverly named Hundra (Swedish for 100), the special one-off Agera S was finished just in time for the 2013 Geneva auto show and features a clear carbon body with artisan hand laid and swirled 24 carat gold leaf inlays. The Hundra is a right hand drive, wonderfully beautiful machine that rockets from 0-to-100 mph before you can bat an eye.

In celebration of its 100th car, Koenigsegg has produced a book called "0 to 100 in 10 Years" as well as a limited series of ten photographs signed by Christian von Koenigsegg, also available.

It's also released a video below that showcases the process behind the Hundra as well as von Koenigsegg's vision for his company and how far it has come in the past 10 years.

Going from an extremely small, unknown company to making some of the most inspirational and amazing hyper cars the world has seen takes a massive amount of work. Koenigsegg deserves plenty of praise for its amazing 100 machines.
