Mazda wins big with Skyactiv-D engine

Apr 22, 2013

Mazda has made some impressive strides with its new Skyactiv-D engine. The most recent of which includes a win in the Rolex Grand-Am GX race at Road Atlanta. Driving the #00 Visit Florida Mazda6 to the win was Joel Miller and Andrew Carbonell while team-mates Sylvain Tremblay and Tom Long fished third in the #70 SpeedSource Mazda6 Skyactiv-D.

This race came packed with firsts for both Grand-Am and Mazda Motorsports. To start was a first-ever win for a diesel powered car in a Grand-Am competition. Mazda also won its first race in the all-new Mazda6 in any race series. It was also the first win for Grand-Am race drivers Joel Miller and Andrew Carbonell.

We look forward to seeing what other firsts Mazda has up its sleeve.
