Nissan 370Z and 240Z Face-Off in Video

Project 370Z Pits Old vs. New

Apr 19, 2013

Have you ever wondered what comparing a 370Z and a 240Z would be like? Well, Nissan asked Facebook fans to submit their dream 370Z through a promotion called Project 370Z. Once the car was decided upon, they also needed a challenge car. Going back to their Facebook fans, Nissan narrowed the choices down and ended up with Gordon McSwain's 1970 240Z.

This is the kind of guy you see laying under his car in the dead of night with just a flashlight. McSwain has had a life-long love affair with cars and has worked on this particular car for years. So winning the challenge and being asked to bring his Z to the Las Vegas Speedway was a dream come true.

The modern day 370Z and the vintage 240Z were put up to intense challenges testing acceleration, braking, and handling ability. Driving these cars to the limit in the video on our Motor Trend YouTube channel was Steve Doherty, the 2012 winner of the Nissan GT academy, and boy did he put them to the test.

Now if I really wanted to spoil the video for you, I would tell you all the stats and how each car placed, but that just wouldn't be fair. But be warned, the video you are about to watch contains incredible sounding cars hitting their rev limiters and being pushed to the extreme. Enjoy.
