Scion revealed its new sportier 2014 tC coupe at the New York auto show. Designed with look-at-me aggressive styling, the new 2014 tC is sure to leave the showroom floor quick once it arrives in June.
In the rear of the tC is the black-out valance that resembles the FR-S with a lower-center trim piece and lower perimeter reflectors. Above are LED tail lamps that move away from the FR-S style with a more boxy shape.
Finishing off the exterior styling are 18-inch alloy wheels that are some of the best looking features of the car. They come standard in a dark grey finish and machined-spoke surfaces.
Standard in the tC will be the all-new Scion Standard Display Audio with a 6.1-inch LCD touchscreen. Appearing in all 2014 Scion models, the system will come equipped with Bluetooth and HD Radio as well as steering wheel-mounted controls. According to Scion, they are the first non-luxury brand in the industry to feature this type of standard system.
But if just going with the standard system won’t be enough for the average buyer, Scion will also have available a BeSpoke Premium Audio system with Aha (30,000 free audio stations including Scions own station), including navigation, and smart phone compatibility (connected through Aha).
Other added features are auto-off headlamps and an auto-up/down driver’s window.
Engine specs and improvements:
Other improved features on the tC are mods to the stabilizer bar hardware, shock absorber optimization, and spot welds (increase body rigidity). Also making the car more fun to drive is the return of electronic power steering.
