Martin Musial and company get big props for being the first to crack into the 8s in a Nissan GT-R. The company’s wicked Alpha 12 development car pummeled the dyno to the tune of 1,309 wheel horsepower and a gob-smacking 994 lbs-ft of torque before being unleashed at the strip. The car made numerous low nine-second passes (9.17, 9.10 and 9.05) during the prolific heat wave in July before blasting the barrier shattering 8.975-second, 169.49 mph run when a lull in the heat presented itself later in the month. The Alpha 12 set-up is a natural progression of AMS’ Alpha 10 package, which delivers 1,000whp on pump gas with a price tag of $63,995.
