Autocar has reported that Honda will announce plans to bring back the venerable Civic Type R at this year’s Paris Motor Show. The Type R, which was only offered as far as Europe, fell from production in 2010. The rumor mill has been abuzz with spy photos and clandestine sightings of a super Civic and while the new Type R will be based on the new Euro-spec Civic (pictured) the powerplant is still an unknown. The previous K20 had trouble meeting emissions standards so a new bullet should be tucked under the hood and a turbo powerplant is not out of the question. In many ways the Type R is Honda at its best and it sucks that America will likely never get a taste of its sweet nectar.
