Turn 14 Re-Ups With Dai Yoshihara for 2016

Performance parts distributor extends title sponsorship of the 2011 champion’s Formula D program.

Mar 2, 2016

Formula DRIFT (FD) followers and fans of 2011 series champion Daijiro Yoshihara likely know that Turn 14 (T14) Distribution have been longtime backers of the Japanese driver’s pro drifting program, jumping on board four years ago. Today news surfaced that T14 is continuing the partnership for the 2016 FD season, signing on again as title sponsor of Yoshihara and his Subaru BRZ.

"We are pleased to continue and extend our relationship with Dai, as well as drifting and the Formula D series,” said Daryl Sampson, Turn 14 Distribution’s Director of Marketing. “Dai is a proven winner, champion, and one of the sport’s most popular drivers.”

Like last year, Dai’s BRZ will rock a Turn 14 branded livery; the Subaru also features a custom-built 7.8-liter turbocharged LS engine, boasting well over 950 rear-wheel horsepower on tap. Since 2004, Yoshihara has finished in the top ten nine times, including his championship run in 2011.

The eight-race Formula D schedule kicks off April 8 and 9 with the Streets of Long Beach event in California, and traverses North America with stops in Georgia, Florida, New Jersey, Montreal, Washington, and Texas before concluding at the legendary House of Drift, Irwindale Speedway, in California in October.
