Watch – Hoonigan Black Friday

Pro drifters Chris Forsberg and Ryan Tuerck tear up an abandoned mall in a pair of 1,000hp, V-8 Nissan 370Z

After weeks of teasing, Hoonigan dropped its latest video opus on the masses, adding another chapter to the book of stunt drivers paired up with monster machines in an otherwise derelict (and generally pretty big) facility. The hot shoes this time are 2009 and 2014 Formula Drift champ Chris Forsberg and fellow FD ace Ryan Tuerck, the cars a pair of specially prepared V-8-powered Nissan 370Z each putting down a reported 1,000 horsepower, and the place is the left-for-dead Hawthorne Plaza Shopping Center near Los Angeles, Calif.

The pilots play follow the leader throughout the mall and its parking garage, Tuerck in a blood-red Z (complete with evil-looking crimson headlights) and Forsberg in an old-school Nissan liveried twin.

The edit is actually something of a big middle finger to the mindless routine people get in for Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving, supposedly the biggest shopping day of the year. Hoonigan and Nissan teamed up for the project set in a mall, the place where many a consumer will be lining up and fighting off others in pursuit of the best deals. (Hoonigan is also using the vid to drive people to its online storefront, where no one ever has to worry about fighting off any crush of humanity just to save a buck or two.)
