It's the look that first grabs you. In this case, we're referring to cars, and we all remember first impressions—seeing those curves and lines, imagining what it would look like lowered and with different wheels, widebodied, with aero, etc. Indeed, appreciating automaker design language is a big part of the enthusiast experience, and regardless of whatever your personal cup of tea might be, watching platforms evolve over generations is pretty fascinating. So when the car insurance team at Budget Direct Singapore tipped us off to a special project it commissioned that compiles visual histories of seven enduring Asian car models, we were quite impressed with the end result.

The posters cover 15 generations of Toyota Crown; 13 gens of Nissan Skyline; 10 gens of Honda Accord; 7 gens of Hyundai Elantra; 5 gens of Subaru Impreza WRX; and 4 gens each of the Mazda MX-5 Miata and Suzuki Jimny. There are actually two posters for every model, one in landscape orientation that provides a front view of all the cars throughout its history and one in portrait that stacks all the generations and looks at front, rear, and side views of the platform. Budget Direct also offers a brief history of each vehicle on its website, where you can download these images as well.

Budget Direct says it pulled the trigger on the posters to entertain and educate car lovers around the world, and for that we're grateful. It's not often our favorite machines are provided with such perspective and deference to their entire lineage, and we're totally nerding out obsessing over the differences from generation to generation. You knew it wouldn’t take long, but for HKS Japan to already roll out a number of performance upgrades for the soon to be released Toyota GR 86 and Subaru BRZ is pretty remarkable. During last weekend’s “Fuji 86 Style with BRZ” event at Japan’s Fuji Speedway, the high-performance aftermarket specialist pulled the sheet off

Have you ever stopped to think about the amount of money you’ve managed to sink into your project car (or cars)? Most tend to shy away from the very thought for fear they might actually come up with a close number but David Vespremi, long-term owner of this 1993 Toyota MR2, has a pretty good

How you found your way to your current car obsession might have been handed down from a parent, could be a product of your peers or, if you’re anything like artist Jun Imai of Kaido House, it was the miniature version of the cars you’ve come to love that managed to draw you in. Able

It’s the moment you’ve all been waiting for in order to justify the rage that’s been brewing from deep within you ever since the 2022 Toyota GR 86 and its BRZ sibling were announced and somewhat detailed. You’re not alone in your angered posts and non-stop social media ribbing, we too were expecting the addition

Car enthusiasts know firsthand just how territorial they are and brand loyalty that usually borders on obsession isn’t at all uncommon. Of the available makes and models both past and present, few carry as much appreciation and fanfare as the Mitsubishi’s Lancer Evolution family. Robert Krajecki, owner of this pristine 2006 Evo IX MR has
