The wait is over! While previous versions of Gran Turismo took Sony years to develop and release to the public, we've been lucky enough to get the inside scoop that GT6 will be on sale this holiday season!

GT6 comes at the franchise's 15th anniversary and was revealed today by creator Kazunori Yamauchi at the Silverstone racetrack in UK - oh by the way, Silverstone is one of seven new tracks in GT6 taking the total number of courses to 33! With new features such as smart phone and tablet connectivity scheduled to set this game apart, it'll also be jam packed with plenty of new cars from historics to the latest race cars. This brings the total number of cars to 1200! Of course, GT6 will also allow you to modify your car in a 1000 different ways to make it your very own.

Sony also announced today that its GT Academy with Nissan will return for 2013. If you don't know about the program, it basically puts the best Gran Turismo players in the world to give them chance and take their virtual skills to reality. The best players become Nissan racing drivers! Six former winners now run top-level motorsports around the world (more details: www.facebook.com/GTAcademy).

Future news on GT6 will be revealed at the E3 and Gamescon convention, but get ready folks, this game is coming in less than seven months and you'll want to reserve your copy as soon as possible! #gt6iscoming
