1994 Honda Civic Hatchback - Our Garage

Welcome to Our Garage. In all reality, this monthly section will show you two different styles on the building of cars for two different purposes. Yes, we really are true enthusiasts, not just porn sta...we mean "automotive" journalists. We'll go over what we actually put onto our cars for the month among other things. Joe's a hardcore racer, but Jonny's a weenie and watches for any little fingerprint left on his windshield at every car show. So as much as we'd like to give really opinionated discussions on why your girl should let you sip on an ice-cold lemonade while you watch Sasha Singleton install a turbo kit on your Civic wearing a thong bikini, we're not. You'll just get to hear our rambling and preaching instead. Well, whatever. So what's new for this month, guys?

Joe: To be honest, nothing. I don't even have a rolling chassis since the day I tried using my car as a bowling ball with trees as the pins. I learned that you can score a strike and still lose the game (That means he doesn't have a car.-JW). The good news is that from this point on, you get to watch me build a street/track car from start to finish. That means plenty of chances to hear me scream expletives and watch me remain dateless until it's finished. What are my plans? Only time will reveal. But I have this to say, and take heed. I will tell you that it sports a Honda badge and some form of a DOHC-hybrid motor will reside in the engine bay. Until next month, "Peace, love, and hazards."

Jonathan: Not much for me, either. I got this brilliant idea to put a better engine in my car, so I decided to put the car away and work on it. Well, it's been 5 months since that time, and I still haven't gotten any further. It's actually sitting in the garage now, collecting a fair amount of dust (3 inches to be exact), and a family of arachnids has made a new home on the rear trunk lid. Now I know what you're thinking, "S-! I knew that damn Jonny Wong doesn't drive a Hemicuda." And you're right, I don't (but Rich does). Believe it or not, I drive a '94 Civic hatchback and damn, she is one sexy beeauch! I don't have too much on the car. It's kind of plain; just a daily commuter. My brothers love to track dirt all over the inside, so it's not pretty either.

I used rolls and rolls of carbon-fiber-look tape to cover my stock hood to make it look like a Spoon hood. Again, it's not very pretty. Next month, I'll be resurrecting it from its slumber and adding a few you-wish-you-had-that-too goodies on. Actually, it's only gonna be this new air freshener that a friend of mine picked up while he was at the last Tokyo Auto Salon. Cola flavored, too! Yum! See you around the next bend, kids.
