Where Did All The Girls Go?
It has come to my attention that there are no more hot girls in the scene. Now I'm not talking about the models. I'm talking about girls that actually own modified cars. Let's rewind about 10-15 years ago. You could go to the street races or whatever car event and see hot girls with modified cars, just trying to fit in and get the attention of guys. Hood rats with hot cars were awesome! Nowadays, the only girls with modified cars are the ones that need help attracting guys. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure there are a few hot chicks out there with nice cars (and if you're reading this please email us with a pic and specs, of you and the car!). But for the most part, the girls in the scene these days are (how do I put this nicely?), booty. Just a bit too tomboyish I suppose. And what is with big girls in small cars? It's like the bigger they are, the smaller the car they drive. It's true, I swear. Take notice. So for now I encourage guys to bring their girlfriends and their girlfriend's friends to car events. Not for just myself, but for the all the guys that have a penis and aren't shy to admit it.

"Say What? The catchy name was derived from Yokomaku's own name (maku meaning 'viel', yoko meaning 'side')."

Richard S. Chang interviews Hironao Yokomaku, the President of VielSide. "In Japan the name is synonymous with money, as in lots of it. Real VeilSide kits are designed for Supras and everything above it on the price ladder, including Ferraris."

Although it doesn't look like it this Civic is more JDM than your car. Not only is it an actual RHD Civic from Japan, but it was also built by Signal Auto in Osaka, Japan. All parts are in fact: JDM. Hard to imagine with today's typical image of 'JDM parts'. Even harder to image is the 12.2 second pass this turbo B16A equipped car did in 1999.

Getting Bisi At the recent Battle of the Imports (IDRA) event, at Sacramento Raceyway, Bisi Ezerioha pushed his Honda Insight into uncharted territory. During event qualifying, the Bisimoto/Torco/AEM/Web Insight ran an incredible time of 9.65 at 150.30mph! This amazing run secured Bisimoto's place in the record books as the very first naturally-aspirated FWD to eclipse 150mph. This trap speed is common in turbo territory and performing such a feat in naturally-aspirated trim is f'ng amazing. The performance also backed up the runs within the common 1-2% range, giving Bisi the following titles:

• World's first sanctioned 150mph FWD naturally-aspirated pass
• World's fastest unibody FWD
• World's fastest n/a Honda
• World's fastest n/a SOHC
• Sacramento Raceway Pro Stock MPH record
• IDRA Pro Stock MPH record Source: www.bisimoto.com ,909.923.2193

Back in the August issue, I asked you guys for some help - your input on what car I should consider for a daily, the new Honda Insight, the Mitsubishi Evo X or a classic Toyota AE86 Corolla. Here are a few of my favorite responses.

"All of them are great but I would suggest the Insight! Why? With the way the economy is going, a nice money-saving ride would be a sound investment, heck less money for gas, repairs, or insurance means more money for those Mugen parts!" -Warren Hayman

"I like the sound of the Evo GS-R, the car looks amazing, gets up and goes and has AWD. You can't go wrong with AWD! You'll turn a lot of heads and with four doors, you can take the party with you and potentially get some in the back. My friend has one and I've spent a lot of time in it and it feels fantastic. The turbo could use some more pep and an ECU tune is in order if you feel the pull." -Luke Wylie
