Mega Matsuri
One week after the final infamous Nisei showoff, the people from Import Showoff decided to throw a swap meet/car show dubbed "Mega Matsuri." We were able to see a few cars that weren't ready for Nisei accompanied by booths from vendors of all sorts. There were a ton of Ruckus scooters out for some fun in the sun. Based on the turn out from this event there are talks about doing more in the future so for more info checkout www.showoffcafe.com.

Dear Jesus,
First off I love to read SS and I'm a subscriber, keep up the great work! Okay, I have a few questions that I could use help on. I own my dream car and it's a '96 Acura Integra EXi 4WD. I was wondering is there anyone out there that make a RWD conversion kit for my car? I'm also thinking of doing either a K-series or J-series motor swap. I want to convert my dream car into a RWD drifting icon. Thanks for the help!
Your fan,
Michael Yoas
P.S. Would it be easier to reach my goals if I traded the EXi in for either the GS-R or Type R?
Well Michael, you have quite the perplexing situation here. First and foremost, I'm not aware of Honda making an EXi model but I would presume it's similar to the Xi AWD Integra, which uses a D-series single cam engine (ZC) mated to a front transaxle with an internal transfer case for RWD. Unfortunately, the AWD system in Honda vehicles isn't even remotely close to the center-diff type seen in Evos and STis. The majority of the drivetrain bias is sent to the front wheels and not only is there no kit for RWD I would imagine that were you to modify the transmission to only power the rear wheels (if possible at all) you would probably overload the transfer case in a matter of months. With that said, if this really were your "dream car" you should just enjoy it as-is. If you do plan on doing a J or K-series swap, however, I would recommend selling the EXi and picking up a normal FWD version. As far as doing something RWD the chassis is really working against you. For starters, the car is FWD and thus uses a transaxle and a transverse layout - any RWD motor will be longitudinal and won't fit without having to cut a transmission tunnel into the chassis and use full custom mounts. Although we have seen one example of a RWD Integra where the owner mounted an H-series engine in the rear of the car for a custom MR setup, but I wouldn't recommend it!
Sincerely,
-Jesus
