This Is How We Do It
For as much of the JDM builds we cover in Super Street, it's easy to sometimes overlook that we have a great scene that can rival the likes of the Japanese. While much of our featured cars are either from Japan or take inspiration from the motherland, I find it irresistible to like the different twists represented in every city because they're all so unique. So instead of the usual grind of JDM pleasure, we're dedicating this issue to all of you - the people who build, floss and race the kinds of cars you'll see in your hometown. The ones that aren't show perfect, didn't cost a lot to build, that aren't afraid to get a little dirt or scratches on them and are daily-driven or purpose-built for real racing. This is also for every letter we've received that's ever said "I can't build that kind of car" or "feature something that isn't all JDM". Does this make you happy now?
Show Betcha
Show and race season is kicking into full gear and we're seeing great events on the horizon. SpoCom is coming full force with three more shows on top of their big Long Beach event; REMIX joins XDC as its show division (led by the original HIN creators); and Mainstream Productions confirmed that Nisei Showoff will be back for one more round. What that means is you need to get out there and support these events to ensure that we'll have some to attend next year and avoid seeing them disappear into the sunset. Even if it's a local meet, go hang with your fellow car enthusiasts and have some fun! We also just caught word that HIN and NOPI are combining forces to create a supershow this summer. Could this be the return of the Super Street Tour? One can only dream...
