2009 Nissan Gt R Parts

With a complete exterior makeover like this, there's no possible way Brian would leave the VR38DETT motor untouched. The only problem was the GT-R was brand-new in the US at the time, so parts were not only hard to come by, but most companies hadn't even begun to develop products for it. Cobb Tuning however, was already hard at work. They even had a JDM GT-R imported a year before the car was released here so they could get a head start on reverse engineering the ECU. Brian went directly to Cobb Tuning's lead GT-R guy, Tim Bailey for advice on how to maximize the potential of his motor. He wasn't ready to do any major turbo upgrades yet, so squeezing all the power he could out of the stock units was the key. Bailey and the Cobb Tuning Surgeline staff created a new map and with basic bolt-ons like Cobb Tuning intakes, Deatschwerks injectors and Arqray exhaust, Gee's VR38 was able to produce over 600HP to the crank. Not only is that over 100 horsepower more than what came from the factory, other GT-Rs with similar tunes from Cobb run high ten-second quarter-mile times all day long!

If at this point you're not completely bloated from all the haterade you've been consuming throughout this read, congratulations, you're not totally envious of another man who owns a 10-second, 500 horsepower-plus R35 Nissan GT-R, that happens to be the first in the U.S. with a complete Wald Black Bison kit. Hell, it has some parts that we can't even pronounce the names of. If that's not ballin' out of control we don't know what is. Whatever Brian Gee does for a living he's doing it right. What people think of him is of little consequence to him because he's too busy hurting feelings. On that note, it's time for us to get back to building our own GT-Rs; the knock-off Duracell batteries in our Xbox 360 controllers don't last very long.
