It all started when Javier and Chaz of Kustom Importz Productions sent out a special invite to Super Street to come down and attend their car and drift show held at the Roberto Clemente Stadium in Carolina, Puerto Rico. Go down to the Caribbean, attend a car show and stay on the clock the whole time? Sure, why the hell not, I thought. I love traveling and I'm down to go just about anywhere, once. My partner in crime on this fear and loathing trip to the Bermuda Triangle, was our staff photographer

There are too many stories from this trip and not enough pages in this issue or enough words in the English dictionary to describe all the events we went through. Let's just say our expedition included lots of Medalla beer, the worst Chinese buffet this side of the universe, at least one transvestite stripper, the best mofongo, more Medalla beer and me being followed by the policía at 3AM in a busted-ass Mitsubishi Montero that must have been salvaged at least three times in its lifetime. If it wasn't for all the Medalla beer we kept feeding Henry, I'm sure he would have killed at least two Puerto Ricans (strippers don't count, of course) by the end of the trip. Despite the bad weather and 'island time' tardiness, we managed to get some work done for you readers.
Javi not only brought us down to the show, we were given the pleasure of awarding one lucky car the Super Street Award. The show was filled with everything from JDM Hondas, to drift cars, to sound bombing SUVs, to a crazy transformer of a 300ZX. And although all the cars were pretty wild, one of our favorite cars was Jose De La Rosa's Mitsubishi Evo 8.

Perhaps it was the simplicity of the car that made it stand out from all the other cars at the show. The stealthy white and carbon combo didn't have us fooled for too long. Soon after examining the car and talking to the owner, we found out under the hood was a fully built 4G63. Built for a daily commute to De La Rosa Performance, where Jose and his father sell and tune cars, this Evo is a far cry from typical Puerto Rican drag machines.
