Import Face-Off kicked their season into high gear with the Bradenton opener, where Yonke Racing’s Civic topped the FWD class with an 11.27 at 128.47mph after Cesar Olin’s K-powered dragster broke during the second round of qualifying. Forced Induction Pro’s victory went to Vijay Ramkissoon as his Supra set an amazing 8.201 at 175mph; Forced Induction Sport’s victory belonged to Brian Sandrock with his 11-second Civic. The SeptSkyline R35 GT-R, known for blowing up the factory transmission last year due to repeated use of the factory launch control, tried to make a comeback but left early on due to mechanical issues. The All Motor Pro for the weekend was Marc Podkowik, who was able to lay down a 10.890 run with a K-series Civic. Best of Show went to Gina Papadopoulos for her Nissan 350Z while Best Club goes to Team Solo’s gang of VIP entries.

Meanwhile, in the great state of Texas, some of the fastest FWD racers were set to run in a massive best 2 out of 3 race with a $4000 prize for the winner. But due to bad weather and track conditions, that grudge match is being pushed back for a later date this year. Still, this drag race attracted about 3,000 people, with show honors going to Chris Shively for his Z (Best of Show) and Team 16Niss (Club Represent).
