NISMO and JR Motorsports (not Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s Nationwide NASCAR team) lapped a total of 440 kilometers in three-hours of full-throttle abuse in the Blancpain Endurance Series. The Nissan made its maiden racing incursion in the Round 4 race held at the Magny-Cours track in France. Drivers Richard Westbrook and David Brabham logged 98 laps and crossed the line in an impressive eighth place overall out of a field of 35 GT3 cars, both paying tribute to the car’s reliability and how easy the Nissan was to drive right out of the box.
After carrying out a highly-successful two days of testing at Circuito de Navarra in northern Spain in the week leading up to the Magny-Cours race. JRM reiterated that its participation in in this event was purely a test and the team was focused on data collection and getting as many race-miles under its belt as possible. Nabbing a Top 10 is quite a debut.
