Rhys Millen will spend more time power-sliding than driving in a straight line in 2012, as the crafty wheelman will be competing in two different motorsports categories this season. First up, Rhys will be piloting a Rhys Millen Racing (RMR) built drift-spec race version of the significantly refreshed 2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe in the 2012 Formula Drift series. RMR has worked its magic stiffening the chassis, re-orientating the suspension and unleashing 600 horsepower from under the hood. Rhys, who is looking to capitalize on momentum from the last two races of 2011 where he won in Las Vegas and was runner-up in Irwindale, is the 2005 Formula Drift champion and 2011 Comeback of the Year award winner. In addition to Formula Drift, Hyundai and RMR will also team up to challenge the best from Ford, Subaru, Dodge and Citroen in the 2012 Global RallyCross Championship Series. RMR has extensively fine-tuned the RMR Veloster Rallycross car with insights gained from an exciting rookie season in 2011. With all that action Rhys may still be dizzy at the SEMA show in late October.
