I love new beginnings—especially those that come at the beginning of a new year. It gives us a chance to reinvent ourselves, or perhaps rethink many purposes in life, with the intention of making things better than ever before. Consider this issue a big step for Super Street walking toward a new, better-looking direction. But we’re aiming to do more than just change a few fonts, rename and add departments, or simply redesign pages to keep up with the times. My dream is to always make Super Street better than how it already is, but sometimes baby steps are a necessary must before we can start running. As 2013 inches along, you’ll see a progression of old to new, but along with that…
…Feast your eyes on our newest features: Break It Down, Euro Flavor, Flash Drives and etc. In Super Street’s earliest days, we covered a lot of DIYs and how-tos that beginning enthusiasts could relate to, and while we’ve never been taken seriously as a tech-savvy outlet, that doesn’t mean we can’t try. In ‘Break It Down’, we’re going to help you understand how things work, from a technological viewpoint—and most of all, we want to make it very easy to understand so that you’ll be able to turn to someone else and teach them how it works. ‘Euro Flavor’ is our tribute to the kind of cars you’re more likely to find in eurotuner (RIP)—so if you don’t have internet access and want to find something from tuned V-Dubs, M3s or JDM-styled machines from the likes of RWB or Liberty Walk, then we’ll have a home for it, very similar to how SS used to be when it first started (yes, before eurotuner, we featured European builds!). Flash Drives will be our shorter new car reviews and will focus on cars that could either be beyond our reach, potentially a car that you may not have considered “tuner” worthy or something we just plain wanted to drive for the hell of it. We’ll skip the boring details and give you the meat and potatoes right away. And lastly, ‘etc’ is just what it sounds like: everything else car related, like news, letters (Tech Q&A, reader feedback), new products and reports from Tetsu’s Tales.
As always, I encourage you to send us feedback, especially if you love, like or just f’in hate what we’re doing, I use all of it to try and make a better Super Street that you’ll continue to support. Change for us is a good thing, so here’s to new beginnings. Have a good 2013!
